Alfie Webb Wins CTR Cross Country Championship Round 1 in the fantastic Trecastle on the South Mid Wales boarder.
Young 15 year old Alfie Alski Webb put a perfect performance in to win his first of many to come CTR Enduro H&H’s X Country races he led from lap one all the way to the finish on one of CTR’s best Enduro race tracks with everything that’s needed to make a Enduro course with Fast flowing fields, Forests, Woods, Steep down hills, Steep Hill climbs, Chambers, Bogs tight twisting technical Woods a real test for all abilities and with the weather showing its beautiful sunny side the track would really improve and get faster and more flowing, Alfie Webb took it in his stride with fast consistent laps on his 125 with a very experienced Tim Forman and Ryan Bawn pushing from behind.
At the start CTR dropped the flag for the Experts and Vet Experts with Rhys Evans grabbing the holeshot from Tim Forman and Alfie Webb with Paul Biggs getting the Vet Expert holeshot, Next set free the Clubman with Rhys Edwards grabbing the holeshot from Jammo Jones And Scott Owens, Next released the Vet Clubman and Over 50’s with Toby Beven and Mark Saunders grabbing the holeshots, Last to be set free the Novice-Sportsman class with Jason Kendal grabbing the holeshot from Ed Land and Geraint Rees as all the CTR racers set off into the distance all eyes focused on lap scoring to see who would lead their class around the lap.
Lap scoring 1st to appear was Alfie Webb with Tim Forman 12 seconds behind and 17 seconds behind him and leading the Vet Experts around Paul Biggs leading his class around, Next class leader was Clubman rider Jammo Jones big bunch snapping at his heals, Next class leader around the lap was Over 50 racer Mark Saunders with Lee Pointing leading the Vet Clubman around and Jason Kendal hot on his tail leading the Novice-Sportsman around.
At the chequered flag the overall winner was Alfie Webb with a very impressive ride on his little KTM 125 in his second year on the 125 and his 1st year in the Experts 2nd was Tim Forman with Ryan Bawn 3rd, Paul Biggs won the Vet Experts from Ryan Mitchel, Martin Luckwell won the Clubman class with Ryan Nightingale 2nd and Graham Owens 3rd, Keith Hebron won the Vet Clubman from Toby Bevan and Lee Pointin was 3rd, Mark Saunders won the Over 50’s class from Richard Holland and Jeff Parfitt was 3rd, Jason Kendal won the Novice-Sportsman form Jack Marsh with Ed land 3rd, it was a realer special days racing in an amazing part of the world on a beautiful sunny day a special mention to a special person a massive congratulation and respect to #250 Aled Hayward in his 1st event back since a serious accident in 2013 where he sustained and badly broken right ankle tib & fib and the loose of his left lower leg riding our event with a prosthetic leg his determination and desire to keep racing and following his passion he made a super human recovery and modified his gear lever so he could not only ride again but he can race again see you all at the next CTR race XCC RD2 going to be held at our Trecastle venue but it will be at the middle track as we have 4 different circuits here and we are really looking forward to it, Thanks to the land owner and farm manager Lewis, My great team of helpers, Lap scorers, Medical team, Caterers, Stewart and Mark for helping us take the track down see you all at CTR XCC RD2 28-29th April.
