Derek Bawn Wins CTR Events Summer Cross Country Championship Round 5 at the awesome Builth Wells
Derek Bawn wins again at CTR SXCC RD5 in the amazing Disserth Motopark in Mid Wales he led all the way from the 1st corner to the last, in slippery conditions on CTR’s 4 mile fast flowing Enduro course with a great mix of fields, Big blasts a few bogs and ditches and jumps and the amazing MX track with big ski jumps, table tops and very steep hills Matthew Jones put up an early challenge back Bawn wasin the mood for charging and charge on he did pulling away and winning by 8 minutes in the end, team CTR had worked through the heavy and much needed rain to complete one of the best XC Enduro tracks they have in their calendar.
At the start Derek Bawn took the holeshot from Matthew Jones , In the Vet Experts it was very close with Sean O’Neill taking the holeshot from Kevin Freeman, the Clubman holeshot went to Graham Owens on his new Husky 300 with Ryan Bevan and Alfie Webb close behind, Over 50’s holeshot went to Adrian Evans with Richard Holland and Keith Cross close behind and the Vet Clubman holeshot went to Andy Card with Neil Price and Jeff Morris chasing close behind, The Novice class holeshot went to Scott Owens with the rest of the group hot on his tail so with all the riders let loose and off out of sight all eyes were set on lap scoring.
At lap scoring it was Derek Bawn leading from Matthew Jones with Sean O’Neill leading the Vet Experts around from Kevin Freeman, Alfie Webb led the Clubman class all way around the lap followed by Brad Copeland, Richard Holland led the Over 50’s around with Adrian Evans hot on his tail, Andy Card led the Vet Clubman around followed by Jeff Morris and Neil Price, Dale Walsh led the Novice class around with Scott Owens and Stephan Mathews not far behind.
At the finish line everyone enjoyed the day with the hard charging Derek Bawn took the win by Just over 8 minutes with Matthew Jones 2nd , Sean O’Neill won the Vets Expert class ahead of Kevin Freeman, Alfie Webb took another well deserved CTR Clubman class win from Brad Copeman 2nd and Graham Owens 3rd, Andy Card won the Vet Clubman from Ryan Mitchell 2nd and Jeff Morris 3rd, Richard Holland won the Over 50’s from Adrian Evans 2nd and Keith Cross 3rd, Dale Walsh won the Novice class with Scott Owens 2nd and Kirean Davies 3rd it was a fantastic day with the weatherman thankfully getting it very wrong with a dry and sunny days racing with the track really showing its true fantastic potential it was abfab with CTR riding his bike more in 2 days than he have all year, So a great big thankyou to all involved we will see you all at the next CTR Events with a 2 day of bike fun planed with a MotoDuro on the afternoon of the 19th 3 x 40 minute Moto’s and the CTR XC H&H’s Enduro on Sunday the 20th all happening at the Fan-tastic Fan Farm Myddfai near Llandovery with camping available to get booked in see CTR Events.co.uk.
